Salome Cocktail: No Reason to Lose Your Head
I do enjoy sipping a cocktail before dinner, my favourites being a Negroni or a Gibson. I do like to try new things though, particularly having such a sell stocked drinks cupboard (or three).
Whilst checking my bar stock, I noticed that I had a nearly empty bottle of both Noilly Pratt and Dubonnet. I started to panic slightly. How could I get so low on two vital ingredients? How was I going to make either of my favourite aperitifs?! As I dug a little deeper into that cupboard, to my relief I found the replacement bottles I had purchased a few weeks back but forgotten about.
Since I had spare bottles of both, I decided to give the near empty bottles a good send off with a gin cocktail that used both and was aptly named for dead bottles of spirits. So without further ado, here is the devilish little number I made. It has just the right balance of sweet and dry to leave you ready for a good meal. Don’t worry, nobody lost their head in the making of this Salome cocktail.
